Position Description
Job Title: Sales Technical Support

Reports To: Business Development Manager
Location: Shanghai, China

Major Purpose:
Provide technical product and process support to the Composites One China sales team. Act as a liaison between Composites One customers and suppliers in both resolving product performance and fitness for use issues and also introduction of new products and process technologies. Assess customer manufacturing requirements recommend solutions utilizing the wide range of Composites One product offering. Assist the Composites One sales team in meeting sales and profit goals by providing a clear and distinct technical competitive advantage versus the competition.
Major Responsibilities:
Financial
• Work in tandem with the Composite One Business Development Manager and sales team personnel to identify potential sales opportunities that could be converted by using the technical solutions selling process
• Prepare customer presentations and material/equipment demonstrations that would provide the customer with an overview of the features and benefits of various products and processes.
• Continuously research new products that would enhance and add value to our current product offering
• Effectively utilize Travel and Entertainment monies for the purposes of creating additional sales revenues
Process
• Maintain and organize demonstration equipment and materials
• Respond to all customer inquires for technical support within 48 hours by coordinating a schedule with both the Business Development Manager and Composites One sales person
• Provide a monthly sales call activity report and Technical Support Project tracking Detail to the Business Development Manager.
• Provide feedback to other Composites One Sales team members on customer material issues or opportunities that are discovered during customer visits.
• Become familiar with the use of MXP (Composites One computer platform) and Composites One B2b so as to be able to utilize and access information.
• Working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and Word
• Respect and promote the policies, procedures and risk management practices of the Company.
Value Creation
• Conduct customer training schools to introduce new technology or process applications on both materials and equipment, as they become available
• Organize and effectively utilize US supplier technical representatives during their China customer visits
• Conduct in-plant process audits as directed by the Business Development Manager
• Investigate customer quality complaints to ensure proper materials and applications are being utilized.
• Demonstrate understanding of customers’ businesses, needs and concerns. Make proactive decisions and take actions that add value for the customer by generating and implementing the best technical solutions
Team/Personal Development
• Joint sales calls with Composites One suppliers
• Read industry publications and web sites to remain aware of new technology and products
• Attend annual China Composites Exhibition and other pertinent trade shows
• Participate in quarterly sales meeting and provide updates on our progress in providing our customers with technical support
• Provide an overview and general training to other C1 sellers on new products/processes
• Be proficient in demonstrating the LRTM and infusion process both from an equipment and materials standpoint
• Present a professional image during the sales presentation stage and also on the shop floor during demonstrations and training
• Participate in Annual KRA goal establishment and semi annual performance review
• Attend training sessions, as required in the US with other Technical support personnel
• Communicate on a monthly basis with US Technical support personnel to remain abreast of new supplier and technology developments
Education/Experience
This position requires a proven performance track record of successfully providing technical support, having the experience of conducting hands on demonstrations of the Closed Mold processes (LRTM and Infusion) and general composites industry experience.
Minimum experience of three years of successful technical support experience and a bachelor’s degree, preferably in chemical engineering. This person must have he ability to persuade and influence others. Must have the ability to develope and deliver presentations and a willingness to demonstrate the use of a wide range of composite materials and processes.
Having worked in a technical role and preferably with at least one foreign company is a plus.
Language Skills
Fluency in speaking, reading and writing English and Mandarin are a must

Travel
This position will require over night travel within the sales region and also occasional travel to the United States for training purposes. Accordingly this person must be able to obtain a travel Visa for travel outside of China
Key Competencies
Mechanical Aptitude- the ability to read and understand equipment schematics and process guides and comprehend the equipment trouble shooting and repair process for root causes analysis.
Sales Skills- A strong knowledge of the sales process and how to build relationships and demonstrate features and benefits that result in sales revenue generation
Organization- Self structured and a high degree of organizational skills are required to manage multiple priorities in a broad geographic area. Thorough preparation, planning and follow up will be key requirements for success.
Written and verbal communication-Must be able to clearly articulate ideas, proposals and goals to the customer, management and other members of the Composites One sales team. Should also be comfortable in preparing and conducting customer presentations and new product demonstrations. Be an active listener.
Initiative- Must be able to work independtly as well as with a team in a fast pace and multifaceted environment. A drive for accomplishment and high energy combined with appropriate empathy and emotional intelligence to understand others and work for mutual solutions to be most effective.
